What better time to rep your love for Tacoma and your appreciation for local makers than now?
It’s back-to-school season and even if you’re not signed up for any classes, chances are you’ll probably, maybe even incidentally, learn something new this fall. And for that occasion, you should definitely don some Tacoma-inspired, Tacoma-acquired apparel.
Now that we have identified the necessity for something new in your wardrobe, you can acquire your getup in two accessible ways: in real life and on the internet.
In real life, you’ve got quite a few options. Go to these places:
1934 Pacific Avenue
This downtown boutique features action sport apparel which translates to awesome t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other accessories from brands like feature Imperial Motion, Obey, KR3W, Alternative Apparel, Emu, Volcom, and more.

Right next to Bleach, this clothing exchange store features piles of thoughtfully curated merchandise both used and new.

Stocked with hyper-local products, you can grab a Tacoma-made t-shirt, cup of coffee, and a beer from friendly purveyor Morgan Alexander.
759 Market Street
At this mens mercantile, the Feather and Oar team is happy to talk fashion with both the adept and the newbie, and send everyone home in just the right ensemble.
213 N I Street
Open only on Saturdays but conveniently located near the Parkway Tavern, Pure Vintage is the perfect place to discover nostalgic graphic tees, 80s footwear, jeans, and cardigans.

Newly opened Retrospect boasts a discerning collection of vintage finds to complement your back-to-school style.

Vanity has stood the test of time, operating an inviting boutique in Tacoma since 2006. A great spot to find some enviable jewelry and a party dress.
Take a day, hit them all, buy a whole bunch of things. You’ll look AND feel better!
