Changes at Post Defiance
Since our humble and enthusiastic beginnings in the summer of 2011, Post Defiance has grown and changed a lot, as you might expect with an organization sustained by passionate volunteers.
When we began, Post Defiance was a team of five: Daniel Rahe, Alicia Wilkinson, Robert Gale, Kate Albert Ward, and Katy Evans. In 2012, Timothy Thomas McNeely joined the team, and Robert and Alicia stepped down. Last year Kate moved on to focus more time on her work with Hilltop Artists and we brought on four more leaders: Patricia Sully and Rachel Ervin as editors, and Shawn McAllister and Kali Raisl as creative directors.
Earlier this year, we said goodbye to Timothy as his responsibilities ramped up at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, and now we wish Daniel Rahe a fond farewell as he steps down as editor in chief to focus on family and career.
It seems like a little bit of a whirlwind when you read the history of leadership in 118 words but over these three years, Post Defiance has matured, growing with the many perspectives of our editors and contributors.
It has been an honor for all of us to get to know and love all of these talented, visionary writers and creators. We can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
Please join us in wishing Daniel Rahe the very best in the next steps of his life. As the founding editor at Post Defiance, it is his perspective and contributions that have helped to make this site what it is today. Thank you for all your hard work, Dan.
As we’re changing and growing, that means it’s also time to add to our leadership team. We are looking to add two more editors to Post Defiance.
If you love Tacoma and love editing writing, editing, and creating, please let us know by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
