Post Defiance Celebrates Two Years: A Picnic in Wright Park

Post Defiance is delighted to celebrate two years of Tacoma content on August 17, 2013. Our three-part anniversary party will kick off at 3 pm with a family-friendly picnic in Wright Park.

Inspired by the Wright Park Lawn Bowlers, sandwiches, and hootenannies, we invite you to bring a picnic (byop), some games, maybe an instrument or two, and enjoy one of the most beautiful parks Tacoma has to offer.

The fun will unfold by the lawn bowling green just off 6th Avenue, across from the Hob Nob. Our friends at the Tacoma Lawn Bowling Club will invite us to try out the game of bowls, and local musicians Taxi Driver and Susie Philipsen will fill our ears with beautiful tunes.

Just a suggestion if you’re unsure what to wear while lawn bowling.

The Post Defiance anniversary event is our opportunity to share what we love about Tacoma, so it was important for us to feature not only opportunities for our readers and friends to support us through ticket sales, but also have a fun free event where everyone was welcome.

The picnic is just the first stage of this three part celebration. Please consider joining us for the next two ticketed parts: the Conservatory Concert and the Defiant Dance.

Our anniversary party is our primary means of raising funds to support the contributors and the operations of the all-volunteer-run nonprofit Post Defiance. Your participation and contribution means the world to us and shows us that our efforts celebrating and exploring Tacoma mean something to you too.

On to the next phase of the Post Defiance Year 2 party: The Conservatory Concert!
